ABOUT MARUXA MARTINEZ

A biologist by training, I have moved from academic research (PhD, Cambridge University) to scientific publishing (Genome Biology, BMC) and to science communication at the corporate level (PRBB). It was during this last post that I started a new path in scientific affairs, when I coordinated the PRBB \"Equality, Diversity and Inclusion\" and the \"Good Scientific Practice\" working groups, and started teaching research integrity and ethics to students and early career researchers. This path led me to my current position at UKRIO.I am interested in open science, research integrity, scientific publishing, science communication, gender equality and diversity and the general inner workings of the research community. My passion is to build an open, honest, inclusive and respectful research culture where everyone is welcomed and can excel and be their best to do science that helps all of society and creates economic and social impact.I am currently a core member of ERION, the European Research Integrity Officers Network, within EARMA.You can read me at:The PRBB website https://ellipse.prbb.orgMy personal blog https://thesciencefactor.wordpress.com (now defunct, waiting for a revival)ORCID ID
