ABOUT MARTYN WESTON
After many years working in the media landscape in various editorial and leadership roles, I decided to risk almost everything.Being part of the BBC came with enormous pride. There were extraordinary challenges as well as the most rewarding, exciting and exhilarating experiences.A number of life events made me wonder whether it’s possible to have two unrelated amazing careers in a lifetime. Can you follow a dream, learn to learn again and become a commercial pilot?I put my life on hold, made every conceivable sacrifice, pushed my limits of resilience and within fourteen months had an Airline Transport Pilots Licence. It’s easy to write, it wasn’t easy to do.To have been part of the Jet2.com Future Second Officer programme was an almighty privilege. An airline and holiday company I have used, admired and respected for so long.It\'s a dream to be joining the Airbus A321 fleet based at Manchester. I am looking forward to being part of a career airline where I hope to spend many years learning and developing in the flight deck and beyond.
