ABOUT MARTYNA WANAT

I am an international lawyer and public policy analyst with 7+ years of research and practice in international public law, governance reforms, justice and rule of law, human rights, gender equality and women\'s rights, through work across sectors - international organisations (Council of Europe, OECD, UNESCO, UN Women, UNFPA, UNEP), government, academia, international development consulting and non-profit organisations. I offer high expertise in applying legal research, gender analysis and policy advice to leverage strategic priorities of organizations and institutions. I am passionate about applying advanced legal knowledge and skills, integrated with an understanding of the underlying socio-economic issues to explore and advance legal and policy frameworks for sustainable development and women’s empowerment. I have gathered experience in research and country-tailored projects in Asia (Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Papua and New Guinea, UAE), Africa (Comoros, Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, Morocco, Lesotho, Seychelles, Tunisia, Zambia), Europe (Germany, Latvia, Poland, Portugal), Central and South America (Antigua and Barbuda, Colombia, Mexico, Peru). My extensive knowledge and experience lie in access to justice. I have supported the strategic development of the portfolio with IOs and governments, co-led the design of thematic workstreams focusing on vulnerable groups, contributed to the preparation of analytical and policy frameworks (e.g. on child-friendly justice policy), co-authored flagship reports and country justice reviews, strongly building on research, data collection, legal/institutional/policy analysis as well as a review of multi-country practices and challenges in the field of justice governance reforms.
