ABOUT MARTYN NIXON
I have over 33 years of experience in customer-facing enterprise-wide technical leadership roles. I have successfully maintained an “above expectation” status in global organisations, such as Royal London, Barclays Bank and IBM and lately with AstraZeneca. Whilst working in such senior technical leadership roles with customers such as 3UK, Diageo, DEFRA and as the Enterprise technical lead for the Co-Op Bank separation. In my current role as a Global Senior Enterprise Architect with AstraZeneca, with responsibility for the Global Business Services business domain’s IT strategy, involving several Service Towers including the Global Data Office, the Global Analytics and AI development, the Global Process Services, and the Global Commercial Office. My primary responsibilities involve engaging with senior stakeholders in each of the seven Service Towers, working to understand their business’ strategic intents allowing me to develop an integrated IT strategy. Most recently I have developed the single enterprise service desk strategy. I completed an RFP for Generative AI technologies forming the Enterprise Employee Engagement layer, augmenting employee self-services with Conversational AI and Machine Learning capabilities. During my 16-year tenure with IBM, following the end of the outsourcing contract with AstraZeneca, for which I was IBM\'s Chief Architect, I left the company to join Barclays Retail Banking as the Global Head of End User Engineering. I was responsible for the global strategy and governance around the workplace and messaging technologies. After 12 months with Barclays, I was approached by IBM to return as their Global Enterprise Architect on the Diageo outsourcing account before taking the Account Technical Director role for IBM on the successful Co-Op Bank Separation programme.Specialities- Data Management and Architecture- Data Governance- Cloud Strategy and Cloud Solutions (AWS & Azure)- IT Strategy and Roadmap Planning- Enterprise Technical Governance- Agile Practitioner- Design Thinking- Microsoft Client Life-cycle management- VMWare and Citrix Technologies- Cisco Networking- Cyber Security- MS Active Directory Strategy & Design - Generative AI & Machine Learning- Global Systems Management Strategy- Strong Technical Strategic Leadership- Project management lifecycle- Strong client relationship skills- Excellent people-management and leadership skills- Financial planning and budgetary control- A good communicator- Honest, sincere and open- A change-oriented team player
