About Marty Lang
As a film professor and administrator, I create and teach the production of entertaining, engaging, and thought-provoking narrative stories. With over 20 years of experience as a writer, director, and producer of feature film and television content, I bring a wealth of industry knowledge and creative vision to my students and colleagues. One of my core competencies and passions is crowdfunding and audience development for independent media projects. I have taught the only semester-long film crowdfunding course offered at a United States university, and I have consulted on multiple successful campaigns that have increased the visibility and distribution of diverse and impactful stories. I have also written for publications such as the New York Times, Hartford Courant, and Filmmaker Magazine, and produced short-form content for online platforms. My mission is to empower filmmakers and storytellers to reach their creative and financial goals, while also addressing social and cultural issues through their work.
