ABOUT MARTIN READ

I’m an editor, writer and publishing project manager with more than twenty five years’ experience in the B2B, client publishing and membership organisation sectors. I\'ve worked with, or for, forward-minded publishers and organisations that need to add value for their audiences. I have been editor of Facilitate (formerly FM World), the news, debate and reference resource produced on behalf of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management, since 2011. I have also been editor of The Planner, the magazine of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Both sectors are populated with truly creative, dedicated professionals who don\'t always get the recognition for the work they do. In the past I\'ve edited magazines in the facilities management, logistics, public transport and group travel sectors. I\'ve written tender documents, helped in the launch of a major media industry title and worked on some of the best small business web sites in the UK. I have also written extensively on the subject of small businesses and small business technology. Along the way I\'ve created, structured and hosted business awards dinners, chaired events (round tables, webinars) and developed systems for managing the workflow related to content provision. Spreadsheets and databases are my guilty pleasures and I’m having treatment for an addiction to primary keys.(If you don’t know what a primary key is, do NOT approach me at parties.)
