ABOUT MARTINO ABBATTISTA

Martino is a Chartered Engineer with 14 years experience in offshore structural engineering. He has a solid knowledge of a range of design standards commonly referenced in the offshore industry. His expertise includes: • Development of concept and detailed design of temporary steel structures and permanent offshore foundations for tidal (TEC), wind (WTG & OSS) and wave energy converters (WEC) and cooling systems for nuclear power stations; • Experience in hammer driving, drilling and grouting operations; • Cost-effective fabrication of steel structures that achieve the right balance between design requirements and the most common available manufacturing practices (CAPEX management); • Detailed development of marine operation methodologies and scope of works for the construction of offshore infrastructures (intakes and outfalls), e.g. cooling system of nuclear power stations (OPEX management). Martino holds the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) issued by the UK based Association for Project Management (APM). His capabilities include: • Clear verbal and written communication with the project team and project stakeholders; • Providing support to the project manager and deputise for them in their absence; • Developing tenders, scope of works, work breakdown structures with relative delivery and payment schedule; • Managing suppliers and relative interfaces to ensure the scope of work is efficiently delivered in time and within budget. Martino has recently acquired GWO qualification to be able to work safely in the offshore environment.
