Hello, I am Martin Alvarez! I am an ambitious and enthusiastic first-generation University of Nevada, Las Vegas student. I am working towards my double major in Finance and Accounting.I am deeply passionate about people and the collaborative dynamics that drive successful businesses. I\'ve actively embraced numerous experiences within the LEE Business School, including participation in the Breaking Bankruptcy, AMA case competitions, Impact Ventures Case Competition, joining the Global Entrepreneurship Experience, and taking on the role of a LEE peer mentor. I continue to meet like-minded individuals who inspire and drive me to continue to grow.Apart from school, I am extremely passionate about music. I have been playing the guitar since I was 12 and was actively involved in mariachi throughout middle and high school. I started my own mariachi company, which fosters community connections by offering lessons and performing at events across the city and country. This experience is where I started learning the skills and discipline required to manage a business but also ignited my profound enthusiasm for meeting new people, setting me on the path of becoming an entrepreneur and businessman.My short-term goals include studying abroad, graduating as a respected and admired student in the LEE Business School, earning my CPA and CFA designations, and empowering my community and peers to do the same. My long-term goals encompass starting a family, earning a C-suite executive position within a major financial firm, exploring the world, and utilizing my knowledge and resources to help grow small businesses in the Las Vegas Valley and Mexico.I love meeting new people, working on new projects, and learning new skills.
