ABOUT MARTIN KIRK

My passion for engineering, science, and technology developed at an early age when I would take things apart and put them back together to see how they worked. To this day, I love to be at the cutting edge to tackle challenges, devise solutions, and work through to successful completion. I also enjoy the teamwork of a good engineering challenge and the mutual support that fosters. I have been fortunate to build on my passions from my electrical engineering start in a research lab designing computerized test equipment, to my aerospace experience designing Honeywell’s first flat-panel cockpit displays, to designing interactive embedded control systems for robotics to designing electronics for interplanetary probes that made it to the surface of the moon and Mars. I have excellent human relations and communication skills to build effective teams.I return to my passion for space systems in my current role as Technical Lead for Spacecraft Command and Data Handling systems where I am responsible for overall system integration, testing and delivery to the customer. Key to my role is to coordinate the Moog team members on the project and to serve as chief liaison to the customer.When I\'m not creating engineering solutions I love to get outdoors for biking (fitness and exploration), hiking, and walks. Indoors I enjoy yoga and Pilates.
