Former Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Deutsche Börse Group- Former Chairman IBM Europe, Middle East & Africa - Multi-faceted global leader; worked in Europe, Japan and US with responsibilities including strategy, business consulting, technology services; industry acumen across multiple sectors- Passionate about skills and knowledge sharing, as well as the importance of lifelong learning- Committed to driving trust in the technology sector via ethical business practice At a time when trust is a source of competitive advantage, it\'s imperative the industry is proactive in establishing strong ethical standards and demonstrating the good we can do in the world.We face unprecedented global challenges. However, by applying the incredible power of technology we have an opportunity not just to solve them, but to create a better future for everyone.This belief has guided me throughout my career, which has spanned three computing eras. During this time there\'s been one reliable constant – change. As IBM\'s second president Thomas Watson Jr. said, to meet the challenges of our changing world, we must be prepared to change everything, everything except our core beliefs.I’m optimistic about what the future holds for Europe\'s tech sector, but acutely aware we need the right people and skills to take us forward. As such, I am passionate about inclusive, accessible education. Business has a responsibility to nurture the potential of young people, equipping future leaders with the skills they need.Of course, life isn\'t all about work! Outside of the office, I have a keen interest in fashion and jewelry making. I\'m a motorbike enthusiast and a handball fan.My wife Veronika and I reside between Madrid and Munich.
