Responsibilities of a Propulsion Functional Excellence Lead:Guide the design, specification, validation & delivery of • Under bonnet thermal management systems (Cooling pack including fan drive system)• Induction / filtration systems• Fuel System• Exhaust / Aftertreatment System• Mounting / isolating systems • Braking SystemsEngine Configuration, Build and Sign off• support the specification of the engine and exhaust and Aftertreatment Systems with relevant suppliers.• For JCB engines: Support production release and manage delivery of proto engines.• For non-JCB: Support resolution of technical issues and close out engine supplier sign off requirements• Create and/or update various system and component Design Guides• Support part rationalisation efforts• Support CAD design reviews• Help ensure that correct disciplines involved• Review with individual designers as needed• Drive consistency and common approaches across groups• Share lessons leaned across machine groups• DFMEA creation and review• Get design engineers to work with analysis engineers and tools to reduce or eliminate rework and retest due to component failures.
