As part of the HR Compensation team at the University of Washington, I provide specialized compensation and classification expertise for UW Medicine. In this role, I work closely with department leaders to provide strategic guidance on compensation, classification, and organizational restructuring for classified, professional staff, and non-academic personnel. My responsibilities include evaluating positions using job evaluation systems, recommending salary ranges, and ensuring compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Washington State Minimum Wage Act (WMWA) guidelines.Key Responsibilities- Advise on compensation and classification issues, providing solutions to support organizational goals, recruitment, retention, and career progression- Evaluate positions and make recommendations based on established systems, ensuring equitable salary relationships across the UW Medicine- Collaborate with HR colleagues and departments to develop innovative compensation solutions tailored to each client’s needs- Manage and support complex classification and compensation matters, including union and non-union reallocation processes- Analyze compensation trends and generate reports to help guide decision-making on salary adjustments and market competitiveness- Provide training on compensation and classification policies, ensuring understanding of regulations and best practices across the organization.By providing expert advice and a data-driven approach, I contribute to the University’s goal of maintaining a fair and competitive compensation system, ultimately enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
