About Martina Cardova

I graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown\'s School of Foreign Service in December 2021 with a degree in Regional and Comparative Studies. My region of concentration was the Middle East, and I also studied Arabic and spent a semester abroad in Qatar. Based on my academic achievements, I was invited to join several honor societies, including Alpha Sigma Nu and Pi Sigma Alpha. During my time at Georgetown, I was involved in a number of student organizations, including the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, the Georgetown International Relations Club, and the School of Foreign Service Academic Council. During my last semester, I also worked as a political science research assistant and a teaching assistant for an economics course. In addition to my extracurricular involvement on campus, I completed summer internships at the Institute of International Relations in Prague, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, and Leona Polakova’s Law Office. I further improved my writing skills by publishing two academic articles, one in the official magazine of the Institute of International Relations and one with the Center for Values in International Development.In August 2022, I enrolled at the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated with a JD degree in May 2025. During my first year, I joined a number of student organizations, including the Virginia Law & Business Society, Virginia Law Women, and Child Advocacy Research and Education. For the 20••••24 academic year, I was selected to serve in leadership positions for the Virginia Law & Business Review, the John Bassett Moore Society of International Law, International Refugee Assistance Project, and Immigration Law Society. During the 20••••25 academic year, I served as co-president of Boston Barristers and as a mentor for several programs.I spent the summer after my first year of law school working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute\'s Office of General Counsel as an intellectual property intern. The following summer, I worked as a summer associate in the Boston office of Proskauer Rose LLP, where I completed assignments in the Firm\'s Private Credit & Leveraged Finance, Private Investment Funds, and Litigation practice groups; participated in mediation and negotiation workshops; and worked on two pro bono cases.After passing the July 2025 Uniform Bar Examination, I became a licensed attorney in Massachusetts and joined Proskauer’s Private Credit & Leveraged Finance Group as an associate.I speak 5 languages — English, Czech, Arabic, French, and German.

   As an associate in the Private Credit & Leveraged Finance group, I support the execution of private credit transactions, with experience drafting a range of financing and collateral documentation, including amendments, fee letters, joinder agreements, disbursement letters, acquisition collateral assignments, insurance assignments and release documentation. I also review and analyze credit agreements and ancillary materials such as organizational documents, legal opinions, deposit account control agreements and UCC filings. In addition, I assist with closing and post-closing processes, including maintaining closing checklists, coordinating execution of transaction documents, managing KYC processes and supporting possessory collateral tracking.
