ABOUT MARTIN WATSON

As a Partner in PKF\'s Financial Services group, I specialise in the provision of audit and advisory services to the financial services sector, with a focus on the insurance industry. I have significant experience of working with life, general and health insurers, as well as insurance brokers. I also have considerable experience of working with asset managers and numerous businesses with client money permissions.From FTSE and AIM listed businesses to PE backed and member owned / mutual organisations, I have experience of working with organisations of a broad range of scale and structure.I also have an in-depth knowledge of Solvency UK, having been part of PRA and FRC working groups relating to the design of the external audit requirement for the Solvency & Financial Condition Report. I have led numerous pieces of assurance work covering the SII public disclosure requirements for all sizes of organisation, from small mutuals to multi-national groups.Building on my assurance roles, I have developed significant experience in financial reporting via numerous industry secondments and I have also supported several listed companies in improving their financial reporting control frameworks. I regularly provide training on emerging best practice in corporate reporting to senior finance practitioners and Boards and previously chaired the Financial Reporting Practitioner Group of ILAG, a trade body representing the life assurance industry.
