Opalite Learning is passionate about the development of professional reflective practice within education, healthcare and industry. It is the belief at Opalite Learning that reflective practice can have a profound and positive impact on student experience, staff development, and performance outcomes. The key aim of a Opalite Learning is to imbed a regular and consistent reflective practice model with all the institutions it collaborates with. Opalite Learning is led by highly qualified teachers and educational leaders. The leaders of Opalite have had a history of positive impacts at both institutional and individual levels. Opalite has a bespoke reflective model and invests time in interviewing industry professionals from education, health, community and finance. All interviewees give their professional guidance on how institutions can reflect and make positive impacts. Opalite encourages the use of reflective writing, and have created a reflective Journal to support the continuous development of reflective practice. ABOUT MARTIN TORMEY

I’m Martin Tormey, co-founder of Opalite Learning. Opalite offers schools, colleges and independent institutions training focused on behaviours and skills. Opailtes aim is to strategically enhance personal development, behaviours, attitudes, well-being and employer engagement through instructive coaching and self-reflection. Opalite supports institutions in both virtual and physical settings.(20••••26)I was a strategic Head at Sheffield College for seven years. I was the Head of Tutorial and Student Progress and played a key part in leading the College through a successful Ofsted inspection. My responsibility as a Head of Tutorial and Student Progress is the strategic creation and quality management of; personal development, behaviours and attitudes. A major part of my role has been the writing of key policies such as; Behaviour, Attendance, and Tutorial & Personal Development. Once these policies have been approved and ratified at Executive level, then another key aspect of my role is the training and development of all members of staff within the College. My role post training and development has been the quality assurance of all policies through data reports, teaching observations, and professional reviews. All quality assurance is enacted through academy/departmental Heads of Learning, who operationally led with their teaching, pastoral and support teams. All policy development and quality assurance processes are designed to improve; learning, engagement, attendance, well-being, personal development, behaviours and attitudes and retention.Whilst at the Sheffield College I an additional three years managing the Post Certificate in Education and A Level Humanities Departments. In both instances I have led in the development of teaching programmes to ensure that students undertake outstanding learning.In addition, I have taught for 16 years a large range of subjects at range of subjects including; the PGCE, A Level History, Politics and Sociology. I am a Licence to Observe practitioner and have undertaken a wide number of observations for the Quality team. In all my roles my main goal is always to provide an outstanding student experience and in depth professional reflective practice.
