Visionary, innovative and creative procurement/supply chain manager with over 25 years experience gained in both private and public sectors. Motivated to continuously innovate, bringing together markets and business units to realise efficiencies and business goals from smarter procurement. Adaptable to changing environments, working with a wide range of stakeholders and objectives and tenacious in raising the profile of the procurement & supply chain profession, particularly in the context of all aspects of sustainability Passionate about moving Procurement from transactional facilitators, away from pure bottom line delivery towards focussing on value-adding activities, particular pre-procurement and post-procurement activities. An advocate of true category management, ensuring influence for procurement in developing business/options appraisals, and latterly contract management and supply chain relationship management delivering ultimate benefits realisation. 15 years in Public Sector, 12 within Private Sector across a wide variety of industries, categories and roles, has given me the firm view that Procurement has often a unique opportunity within an organisation as a team to marry and align organisational objectives with market capability, and a cultivator of innovation and ideas from the supply chain and markets. It is a profession still maturing into a necessary strategic function, coming out of shadows of reporting to other functions.
