About Martin Shreffler

Throughout the course of my professional career, I have demonstrated a proven ability to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements, and procure goods from global channels. I have built a reputation as an effective communicator that understands how to manage categories, lead transformational change, and secure profitability through purchasing. I possess an MBA from Eastern Kentucky University, and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from Asbury University. In addition, I earned an accreditation as a Lean Supply Chain Professional from Georgia Tech Professional Education. Presently, I am the Director of Indirect Sourcing for Tempursealy Intl. Since being promoted to the role in 2021, I have made impactful contributions. For example, I am on track to achieve over $20M in savings and cost avoidance in 2022 across indirect and project management teams. This comes after achieving $13M in savings in 2021. I also expanded the indirect source team to assist Capital, MRO, IT, Marketing point of purchase & Agency Support, HR, Travel & Events, and ESG operation project leadership. From 2019 to 2021, I served as the Senior Manager of Indirect Sourcing. In this position, I assessed practices, identified gaps, and introduced solutions to propel performance. I am proud to share that I founded the first indirect sourcing team in the 20-year history of the company. This saved over $8M in costs over a two-year period. In addition, I outsourced event management responsibilities which increased buying power, expanded visibility, and augmented transparency for senior leadership. From 2016 to 2019, I served as the Category Manager and Supplier Relationship Manager where I oversaw a $170M annual spend for steel bedding products and $13M for corrugated packaging. I also led many cross-functional projects and liaised with product development, quality control, marketing, manufacturing, and planning. Through my efforts, we saved 12% on corrugate and 10% on steel bedding.
