Martin joined Abonmarche in February 2020 as a Coastal Staff Engineer working on private and public projects in Michigan and Indiana, with specialized engineering expertise in coasts, oceans, ports, harbors, floods, marinas, waterfronts, dredging, and heavy civil marine construction. Earlier job responsibilities involved design drafting using Autodesk Civil 3D/AutoCAD software for coastal/waterfront projects, permitting, gathering/editing technical specifications, preparing EJCDC® contract/bid documents, creating project cost estimates, conducting construction administration, writing technical reports/studies, and leading interns/younger staff. Martin advanced to Coastal Project Engineer in 2024 after gaining competence/experience in coastal/waterfront design, state/federal regulatory permitting, grant preparation, bidding, construction administration, and professional engineering consultation. While working part-time at Abonmarche, Martin graduated with a Master of Engineering degree in May 2025 and is now a Coastal Project Manager. Martin is a natural leader and oversees up to 20 active projects on a weekly basis, participates in city commission/public forum meetings, writes proposals for new scopes of work, delegates tasks for staff, manages project budgets/billings, and works closely with other licensed professionals (engineers, surveyors, architects).
