Martin LaMar is Invest Atlanta’s Senior Vice President of Economic Development where he conducts and supervises business retention and expansion, real estate development (new and significantly rehabilitated residential and commercial units), transportation, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international trade and foreign direct investment for Atlanta, Georgia. Led new business prospects and development activity, small ($50M maximum) and medium ($51M-$1B) business, entrepreneurial development, and workforce development issues. Planned, directed, and implemented the business marketing, retention and recruitment programs and activities. Oversaw labor standards and advocacy. Facilitated and negotiate relocation incentive packages outside companies and develop marketing programs to increase net new quality jobs in Atlanta. Developed and oversaw an international trade and foreign direct investment attraction program and implementation strategy. Oversaw real estate transaction management and lease administration for Invest Atlanta-owned properties and parcels via public-private partnerships (P3s) through tax incremental financing (TIF)/tax allocation districts (TAD), PILOT, and Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) district-backed financing. Coordinated and develop strong relationships with external private entities, consultants, developers, landowners, and lenders. Facilitated the development of real estate and economic development pipeline to meet city’s growth strategy. Led and spearheaded government affairs for the organization.
