ABOUT MARTIN KING
I am a General Surgical Registrar currently training in Northern Ireland, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, surgical education, and advancing patient care. As part of the Northern Ireland General Surgical Training Program, I continue to gain invaluable experience across a range of specialties, including oesophagogastric, colorectal surgery and hepatobiliary surgery, while working in several hospitals across the region. In addition to my clinical training, I had the privilege of serving as President of the Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT), an experience that significantly shaped my leadership and advocacy skills. In this role, I led efforts to enhance the training and wellbeing of junior doctors and surgical trainees across the UK and Ireland. Through ASiT, I worked on various initiatives, including educational programs, policy advocacy, and research aimed at improving the quality of surgical training.I am actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors and medical students, with a particular focus on fostering the next generation of surgeons. As I continue my journey in healthcare, I remain driven by a passion for surgical innovation, education, and patient care. I am always eager to connect with fellow professionals to collaborate on improving surgical practices and shaping the future of healthcare.Feel free to reach out if you\'d like to discuss surgical education, policy, or potential opportunities for collaboration.
