I am CEO of Leeds Civic Trust, a charity formed in 1965 which seeks to improve the city of Leeds, focusing in particular on planning and development, transport, heritage and history and public amenity. I lead a team of 5 and we support around 100 volunteers who deliver much of the work of the organisation.Our work includes- Influencing the development of the city through liaison with developers, planners and architects and commenting on major planning applications- lobbying for major transport improvements (e.g. mass transit, bus franchising)- developing plans for spatial improvements to the city and lobbying stakeholders to support their implementation- identifying and promoting the upkeep and restoration of heritage at risk- running the city\'s historic blue plaques scheme (our 200th plaque was erected in 2024)- working with many organisations including Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Higher Educational institutions and the business community to further our aims
