    With three decades of applicable experience, Mr. Fuess is a proven cultural resource manager, specializing in both prehistoric and historic archaeology. He has successfully served as Archaeological Principal Investigator, Project/Task Manager, and as a cultural resources marketing and proposal coordinator. He is skilled in prehistoric ceramic analysis and interpretation, thin-section petrographic analysis of ceramics, historic artifact analysis and interpretation (with an emphasis on the study of American glass of the eighteenth through the early 20th centuries), historic contextual research, as well as archaeological illustration. He is heavily involved in educational outreach activities including development of award-winning educational project websites, informational booklets, display boards, brochures, and posters. He has variously participated as principal investigator, project manager, field supervisor, crew member, lab supervisor, and artifact analyst on archaeological projects in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Maryland, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Arizona, and Puerto Rico. Mr. Fuess has also participated in archaeological excavations on the island of San Salvador, The Bahamas, and has directed archaeological studies on the island of Antigua, northern Lesser Antilles. Mr. Fuess is also actively involved in community development and historic preservation and outreach, and is well-versed in small 501c3 non-profit management having served in a variety of officer and director positions. He is a past President and Editor, currently serving as a Director for the Historical Glass Club of Pittsburgh, a non-profit organization with roots stemming from 1939, and established to promote Pittsburgh’s glass history. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Manchester Historic Society, Inc, Pittsburgh, PA as well as the community-level Manchester Local Review Committee.
