The project involved the migration of server and desktop applications from ABB Power Grid to Hitachi Energy, a new entity that emerged from the joint venture between ABB and Hitachi. The scope of the project covered users in 76 countries, that needed access the applications seamlessly and securely.The project had a tight deadline of 24 months, which requires careful planning, coordination, and execution of the transition activities.Key Deliverables:• Managing the application transition across sites in Italy, Poland, Egypt, Türkiye, USA, China, Vietnam, and India.• Transition of mission critical applications across different types of sites, including large manufacturing plants and office buildings.• Building confidence and trust by sharing detailed migration plans to cover objectives, scope, timeline, risks, and mitigation strategies.• Plan the migrations to ensure minimal impact to 24/7 operations each with a revenue up to $15 million per week at the manufacturing site.• Identifying all the application dependencies prior to migrations to avoid delays, errors, and unexpected costs during the migration process.• Manage complex deliveries of application and data migration to both on-prem and Cloud servers. • Working with Hitachi Energy compliance team to implement remediation plans or obtain policy exceptions.• Weekly progress and performance reporting to senior stakeholders.
