ABOUT MARTIN COOK
Martin is a Director of AOC and plays a key role in the strategic management and direction of all aspects of fieldwork across the Company. AOC currently has six regional offices across Britain (Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, London, York, Leeds and Inverness). Employing over 150 exceptional staff AOC offer a range of heritage services (consultancy, fieldwork, post-excavation, conservation, geophysical survey, Historic Building Recording, laser scanning and Community Archaeology). AOC work with a diverse range of clients from the private, public and third sectors. Key clients are involved in infrastructure, housing, wind farm developments and various heritage initiatives. Martin has worked in commercial archaeology for 24 years. He has managed and excavated over 50 sites and project managed many more. Martin specialises in advising clients on the costings, programming and execution of often complex heritage planning conditions. NEEBOSH trained, he is also AOC\'s designated Health and Safety Officer. Together with the Senior Management Team he has overseen the Company\'s continued growth in terms of market share and geographic penetration, successfully growing the Company\'s turnover by 20% per annum over the last 10 years. Martin has numerous publications on archaeology, particularly in the field of Bronze Age and Iron Age archaeology and most recently co authored the monograph, Three hillforts on the Tay, presenting our work on three Iron Age forts Martin has spoken widely and lectured to over 40 conferences across the uk.
