I thrive on operational delivery challenges; understanding a customer’s expectations and the barriers to achieving this is key. After understanding the root cause of problems that’s when I get to work resolving them with modern technology and a people focus that delivers scalable and sustainable solutions. I have enjoyed numerous executive and senior operational positions throughout my career in both logistics and large-scale Government BPO contracts in the health sector. My personal and professional experiences have taught me the following about myself:I can lead the recovery, growth, and sustained delivery of struggling contracts through:› Truly putting people first. In the health sector trained health professionals are in high demand across both the public and private sectors. You must distinguish your organisation from others if you are to retain and attract the best talent.› Building and developing a dynamic and diverse leadership team that work together to achieve the mission and are aligned on the business priorities. › Focusing on robust, transparent, and timely communications at all levels – both internal to the team and external to the client. Communications and honesty are critical to developing trust and confidence that you are true to your word.› Trusting your team to deliver. Provide managers with clear direction and the resources needed and set them free.› Going back to basics. Businesses often neglect the basics to increase productivity. Focus on performance, feedback and personal development through reviewing management spans of control; ring fencing time for 1:1s and team meetings; provide reporting/MI that informs managers decision making; say thank you and recognise the amazing contributions of the team.I do not need to know everything. There are some incredibly talented and experienced people out there. Seek their council and ask questions; but trust your gut!Constantly learn, evolve the way you think and act. Technology and society advances at pace. Keep up.Finding time to look after your own physical and mental wellbeing is critical. Nothing helps me recharge and refocus better than time spent with my family in the beautiful landscape of the Northwest of England.
