   I serve as a voluneer on the Technical Advisory Committee for the Wetland Science and Management Certificate program. The certificate program teaches students concrete skills for working in the field of wetland biology. Many graduates of the program go on to work in private consulting, non-profit agencies, and governmental agencies. I am an example of how well the certificate program can work. I enrolled in the program the first year it was offered. Before I completed the program, I had secured an internship at a private consulting firm and within the year was hired full-time. I have been working in the field of wetland biology since graduating from the program.
