Responsible for servicing operating units by performing their various accounting activities, including but not limited to; processing & reviewing transactions in the SAP GL system and various other plant sub-ledger systems, account reconciliation, problem solving, process improvement, financial analysis and support of the month end closing process. Coordinate complex workflow from operating units to the center and off shore accounting facility. Act as a mentor to the junior level accountants- Develop/review journal entries and perform analysis in key accounting areas for domestic platforms - Primary contact for the field on all accounting matters - Complex account reconciliations - Reconcile key accounts and maintain internal controls - Develop basic financial, operational and analytical reports - Monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close - Coordinate accounting matters with other NSSC departments and company locations (i.e. Financial Reporting, AP, Payroll, Corp Tax, IT, etc)- Field BU questions regarding accounting information - Identify and implement ideas and practices to improve processes and/or accuracy - Assist with special projects and reports
