About Martha Mather
Prior to joining Team Kentucky as a Behavioral Health Advisor to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and an Executive Advisor to the Department of Juvenile Justice, Martha served as a Senior Consultant to Sheppard Pratt Solutions providing strategic and operational planning to health systems.She previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Aware Recovery Care with operational oversight for 11 state agencies, admissions, and business development. Prior to this role, Martha served at UofL Health - Peace Hospital (formerly Our Lady of Peace) as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer beginning in March of 2012. Martha was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in September of 2019. Peace Hospital is one of the largest behavioral health hospitals in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and one of the largest providers of child/adolescent inpatient behavioral health care in the country. Peace Hospital averages 900 inpatient admissions per month and treats over 250 patients per day for both behavioral health and substance use issues. Under Martha\'s leadership, Peace Hospital was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in Kentucky” by the Kentucky Chamber for three consecutive years. Peace has also received the Quality Award from the Kentucky Hospital Association seven time in recent years.Before joining Peace Hospital, Ms. Mather served 15 years in executive roles for leading behavioral health systems ranging in size from 100 to 300 beds throughout the South. She is clinically trained as a licensed professional counselor and utilizes her clinical background in the day-to-day operations of facility management and business development. Ms. Mather has been successful in improving employee engagement scores and patient satisfaction scores while increasing both volume and revenue.
