ABOUT MARTHA MARISA WANAT

My résumé lies between entrepreneurial design and musical practice, between management, sustainability, sociology, philosophy, culture and art. My current academic work explores the role of art as an agent of transformation toward greater sustainability and social justice. After completing a bachelor’s degree in management with a focus on cultural studies (Zeppelin University), I lived and studied two semesters at the Universidad Autónoma Nacional de México in Mexico City to complete my Master\'s degree with a focus on philosophy and sociology (TU Berlin). Professionally, I am a co-founder of the Next Generation Academy, a internationally operating education and consulting collective focused on sustainable urban development, where I have been responsible for strategy, partnerships, and the educational program. Prior to that, I worked as Managing Director and Co-Founder of BICICLI Holding GmbH and MOND Mobility New Designs in Berlin, leading strategy, innovation, business development, and communication. I am also the author of a book on sustainable urban mobility, published by a leading German publishing house. In addition to my academic and entrepreneurial background, I have extensive training in classical and contemporary music, including voice and violin, and have performed in numerous ensembles and productions. Currently, I am supporting artists as a freelancer: Exhibition planning and conceptualization, curation, budgeting, and support throughout the application process (funding). I combine strategic and entrepreneurial thinking with creativity, enthusiasm for complexity and innovation, strong communication skills, and a talent for building long-term partnerships.
