ABOUT MARTHA LOPEZ YRIGOYEN

As a Principal Scientist with over six years of experience in the medical biotech sector, I specialize in building the advanced cellular platforms that drive modern drug discovery. My expertise lies at the intersection of complex cell model engineering, target identification, and research operations, with a proven track record of moving projects from early-stage concept to scalable discovery pipelines.I lead the design and implementation of high-precision, and high throughput genome editing strategies (CRISPR/Cas9 in various modalities) in several models, including iPSC differentiated and primary cells. While my recent work has focused on myeloid lineages, my core strength is the end-to-end development of drug screening and target ID cell based models. I excel at translating complex biological questions into robust, reproducible assays—a skill set that is directly applicable to drug discovery, cell therapy, regenerative medicine, and high-throughput screening facilities.As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I am deeply committed to the \"how\" of science—ensuring that technical knowledge is effectively transferred (to students and colleagues) and that research environments are managed for peak innovation
