ABOUT MARTHA JULIETA CAMPOS

I am a 3rd-year law student at Thurgood Marshall School of Law. I am honored to attend this school full of hardworking students who show grit and resilience in every circumstance. I am here looking to become a lawyer. I want to do the Lord\'s work as His tool. Knowing Him deeper through this law school journey is an honor—Estoy al servicio.I was born in Brownsville, TX, and would cross the border almost daily to Matamoros, Tamaulipas, MX. My parents owned a small business in MX selling canned food and home goods. They closed this store in 2023 after my dad had a brain procedure, and there were complications. That small business and my father\'s hard work as a shrimper put food on our table all my childhood. We were six children who were always taught to work hard and never be a burden. When I was in second grade, we were homeless for a while until the school discovered our situation. The school connected my family with a shelter and work placement program. We were given a place to sleep in a shelter. I am proud to say we were out of there in six months with my parent\'s dedication and hard work. I will always remember our stay there; I got three square meals a day there and fell in love with canned applesauce. My family taught me to carry my weight and work for what I have. I am proud of my people and my background. I love getting to serve in any way and cannot wait to earn this law license and be able to do even more for my community.
