About Martel Thomas

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in May 2022. Growing up in Memphis, Tennessee inspired me to pursue a career in education because I was able to obtain a great education at one of the best high schools in the Greater Memphis Area and had phenomenal teachers who encouraged me to pursue a career path as as a teacher. Going forward, I would like to become a teacher and ultimately become an educational consultant who works with schools districts to improve the academic outcomes of students who look like me.
