Due to research activities (PhD research), from July 2019 I am collaborating with the Epidemiological Center of the City of Turin in order to analyze the impact of temperatures on human health within the urban context. The aim is to study the long-term seasonality and trend that characterize the exposure of the population within the city, and to analyze the association with the social and economic inequalities.

ABOUT MARTA ELLENA

Marta Ellena is a research doctorate in Climate Change Science and Management at Ca\' Foscari University of Venice. Her work focuses on climate change adaptation, with particular attention to cities and participatory processes. She completed a Master of Research (MRes) in Impact and Management of Climate Change in June 2018 and, starting from January 2019, began working for the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) as a researcher and consultant for international negotiations, collaborating with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE). In her research, she engages in risk analysis related to various socio-economic systems in contemporary society, with a specific focus on heatwaves and social inequalities in urban contexts. She also applies stakeholder engagement and facilitation methods to enhance participatory decision-making in climate adaptation strategies. As a negotiation consultant, her primary activities revolve around research and development on climate change adaptation within the framework of actions planned for the international negotiations of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and within the processes related to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
