About Marta Bohorquez

For the last 22 years I have been job placing people with disabilities and the under-served community by helping them integrate into the workforce while meeting the needs of the business community. My success is reflected in my clients 90% job placement and retention rates. Born and raised in Ecuador, came to the United States in 1997. An exciting career in high tech security products sales and marketing profession, all the way to management, in both Ecuador and the United States prepared me to meet the challenges I deal with on an everyday basis, giving me an understanding of diverse cultures and the business community; and a heightened empathy those who struggle. I transitioned to the field of vocational rehabilitation upon relocating to Montgomery County from Florida and have found it to be my life\'s calling and an adventure. Working to mainstream disabled adults, ranging from people with autism, to the blind, the mentally ill, to the physically disabled, as well as people with criminal records, is valuable to our community and also my passion. I enjoy my career and what I have been able to accomplish. While I have close relationships with leaders in my local government and am considered by many to be one of the strongest advocates for people with disabilities in Montgomery County, my performance was recognized formally when I won the Michael Taff award from the hands of the Mayor of the City Of Rockville in 2011 for my successful service to the disabled population. In October 2014, I also put together a fashion show, which I named Homeless2Hopeful, with the support of Montgomery County\'s Council Members. My event raised funds to for the homeless population and included 20 models, some of whom had experienced homelessness. The money benefitted Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless.
