I am designing microfluidics and microphysiological systems for drug discovery in neuroscience and ophthalmology. • I am developing an in vitro model of glaucoma with stem cells derived cells featuring the optic nerve head biomechanics, pressure gradients, and neuro-glia interactions.• I am establishing in vitro models of neurodegeneration (axonal cytoskeleton disruption and axonal transport impairment) and neuroinflammation (co-cultures) using a new microfluidic geometrical feature to induce a mild mechanical stressor on axons of stem cells derived neurons.• I am tracking mitochondria and protein aggregates in axons as neuronal health readout and drug target validation. • I have participated in a directed protein evolution project using droplet microfluidics.
