ABOUT MARSHALL PICKARD
I\'m a creative professional, athletic coach, educator, and community builder who has spent 25+ years sitting at the intersection of design, sports, and storytelling — and I\'ve never stayed in just one lane.Today, I lead aquatics programming at the YMCA of the Roses, where in my first year, I\'ve grown group swim lessons by 40%, driven a 30% increase in department revenue, launched a Masters Swim Training Program, and secured over in grants for water safety initiatives. I also oversee all branch marketing and communications — which is where my other background comes in.For more than two decades, I\'ve worked as a graphic designer and marketing consultant — building brands, designing campaigns, managing web and print advertising, and directing marketing and sponsorship for large-scale race events. I\'ve also timed hundreds of track & field competitions as a certified FAT timer and PIAA official. In the classroom, I\'ve taught college-level communications, advertising, and English courses at Alvernia University and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology — because I believe that understanding how to communicate clearly is foundational to everything else.As a coach, I\'ve had the privilege of building programs from the ground up. At Berks Catholic, I led the Girls\' Cross Country program to a District 3 Championship, back-to-back division titles, and the best four-year record in school history — while establishing a memorial scholarship and developing student-athletes who earned academic and sportsmanship honors. I\'ve continued that work at Lancaster Catholic, where I helped launch an indoor track program now recognized as a varsity sport. What ties all of this together: I bring creative thinking to operational problems and structure to creative ones. Whether I\'m designing a campaign, developing a program, teaching a class, coaching an athlete, or managing an event — I show up with the same commitment. I build things that last, and I make the people and organizations around me better.
