ABOUT MARRIA MUKHTAR
Looking at my experiences in education, I acknowledge and understand that the role of a teacher is fundamental in shaping the lives of children and young people. I am also aware that the knowledge and skills learned by children in the classroom, will be used as tools to progress in their future. I aspire to become an inspiring and effective role model who encourages young people to have the knowledge and understanding to view the environment around them in a critical manner, positively contribute to society and have open minds. I also endeavour to make sure that all the children in my care are secure; emotionally, physically and socially. As a NQT, I will endeavour to bring 100% to the progress and development of all children. Skills I have obtained since pursuing this career path include: Planning for and teaching all areas of the primary curriculum. Planning lessons which cater to the needs of all children - Differentiating planning to suit the needs of individuals. Motivating children with creative and imaginative lessons and activities. Behaviour and classroom management – maintaining discipline and acknowledging progress and achievements. Ensuring the safety of all pupils. Assessing pupils’ progress and development. Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly within the school including professionals such as SEN coordinators and psychologists. Attending INSET days and weekly staff meetings. Reviewing IEP’s and attending and contributing to review meetings with parents and other professionals. Communicating with parents during parent’s evenings’ and after school to discuss pupil progress, achievements and concerns.
