In my youth, the superhero I hoped to embody most was Captain Planet; protecting people and the planet from environmental disaster seemed like a better gig than any other superhero. As an adult I have the privilege of working in and studying a field that brings me closer to that goal. I am a public health professional with extensive knowledge in a wide range of environmental and public health issues including, but not limited to: food safety, water and wastewater, environmental pollution, microbiology, sanitation and health disparity. I am people-oriented and have over 10 years of leadership experience in various community, school and occupational venues. When I am not working to protect the environment, I am out enjoying it. I am an avid hiker, musician, reader and writer.
