ABOUT MARNIX VALKENIERS
My focus is on creating practical solutions for climate action.I spent eight years in the dredging and marine engineering sector, including three years onboard ships as a Second Officer, followed by five years in sales and business development. This experience, combined with my studies in Nautical Sciences and in Transport & Maritime Management, gave me a deep understanding of the maritime industry and its complex challenges.Later, my career shifted entirely to cleantech and sustainability. I spent two years selling a sensor-based solution to reduce methane emissions, and I founded a company focused on personal & corporate sustainability.When I moved to Canada in late 2024, I decided to combine my two professional passions: the maritime industry and climate action. This led me to found Flux Lines. We are building a flexible shore power solution with battery barges to help ports electrify fast and effectively. My goal is simple: to use my experience to bring an impactful decarbonization solution to commercial ports.
