Clarion West is a nonprofit literary organization with a focus on speculative fiction that runs an acclaimed six-week residential workshop every summer, online classes and workshops, one-day andweekend workshops, a reading series every summer, and other events throughout the year.Our mission is to support emerging and underrepresented voices by providing writers with world-class instruction to empower their creation of wild and amazing worlds. Through conversation andpublic engagement, we bring those voices to an ever-expanding community.Our vision: When we are successful, we foster greater equity and inclusion in the speculative fiction world, we help bring quality speculative fiction to light, and we bring writers and readerstogether.Writing is a conversation between the author and the reader. And today’s world requires that more people engage in challenging conversations around our past, our future, and our hope for real and lasting change. Clarion West is uniquely positioned to create the space for speculative fiction writers to engage in these conversations and to imagine, critique, and reinterpret utopia and dystopia alike.
