Marlyn Carrillo is a first-generation fronteriza from El Paso, Texas, with a background in journalism, public affairs, and digital media strategy. She currently serves in a senior public affairs role at the San Diego County Water Authority, where she leads strategic communications initiatives that strengthen public trust, promote water reliability, and highlight the agency’s commitment to serving 3.3 million residents across the region.A digital marketing expert and lifelong public servant, Marlyn has built a career at the intersection of government, community engagement, and storytelling. Her experience includes serving as Communications Director at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Marketing Director at Athenian Group, and Press Secretary for the U.S. House of Representatives, where she led bilingual communications and digital strategies to connect diverse communities with public policy.Marlyn serves on the Board of Trustees for Forever Balboa Park and is an active member of MANA de San Diego. She is also a LEAD Advance alumna (2022), continuing her commitment to developing and supporting Latina leadership.
