My position focuses on emerging scientific issues of importance to protected area management and conservation. Using an Ecosystem based approach to maintaining and restoring the ecological integrity of Canada’s National Parks and National Marine Conservation Areas. In particular my scientific expertise is in ecosystem response to climate change (mitigation and adaptation), Coastal and terrestrial ecosystem ecology, fire ecology of eco-cultural landscapes, restoration ecology, and natural and human driven ecosystem processes in shaping ecosystems.

I am an Ecosystem Scientist working with Parks Canada in the Office of the Chief Ecosystem Scientist. My current work focuses on carbon dynamics in coastal ecosystems, paleoecology, Fire history and Indigenous land management, conservation ecology, climate change mitigation and adaptation, coastal ecosystems, ecosystem restoration and environmental change. My scientific publications are found on Research Gate am a member of the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation in British Columbia.
