About Marlena Wolfgramm
Passionate professional dedicated to making a meaningful impact in higher education. With over a decade of teaching experience, researching the post-secondary educational experiences of underrepresented and marginalized students, career pathways of PhD students, and assessing grants for graduate programs, I have honed in my skills as a Teaching Research Scholar and demonstrated a commitment to driving innovation and excellence. My journey has been defined by a proactive approach to challenges, a collaborative mindset, and relentless pursuit of personal and organizational growth. In my current role as Postdoctoral Research at the Council of Graduate Schools in Washington, DC, I have been working on several projects including the Career Pathways project, researching the career pathways of alumni graduate students from graduate school to their current career, a collaborative project with AERA on supporting open sciences and scholarship, and assessing investments in doctoral education. These experiences have shaped my ability to manage and lead research projects, developed a professional network, and strengthened my qualitative research skills, including data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of findings at conferences and publishing papers. I am particularly passionate about understanding the educational trajectories and career pathways of undergraduate and graduate students to provide a sustainable, equitable and meaningful college experience. My philosophy revolves around my Pacific Islander culture of community, reciprocity and giving back to encourage empathy, responsibility and inclusion. I am excited about the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals, explore potential collaborations, and contribute to the broader conversation on elevating education.
