As the Founder and Executive Director of the J. Moss Foundation and Skinny Gene Project, Marlayna draws upon her passion for diabetes prevention, as well as her strategic marketing background and innovative approach for problem-solving, to lead this award-winning non-profit organization. With over 12 years experience as a diabetes prevention advocate, Marlayna has developed and implemented programs that have been proven to help those at-risk prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. Under her direction, the Skinny Gene Project has been recognized by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), partnered with prestigious universities and hospital systems, and is a chosen charity for the San Diego Half Marathon.
