ABOUT MARK ZOD

Mark has a passion for applying technology to improve business process, decision making and collaborative environments. After a successful sale of the supply chain software venture he co-founded, he pivoted and spent five years in the FinTech space. He currently teaches two courses in the Wharton School MBA program: a general persuasive communication course and one specific for active entrepreneurs designed to develop and refine their pitch.Mark\'s career started at Bell Labs, but he went on to co-found WAM Systems, a business that he bootstrapped, raised two rounds of venture capital, and brought to a successful exit with his partners. As CTO of the group, he was responsible for inventing, designing, building, and selling supply chain solutions for the most technically challenging business problems at some of the largest multi-national, multi-billion dollar manufacturing enterprises. Mark worked with shop floor to C-suites worldwide communicating these complex forecasting and optimization technologies in compelling ways to educate, achieve buy-in, close sales, and then successfully implement to create long-lasting measurable results. Mark has a knack for developing effective solutions with limited resources and limited time through ruthless distillation of the problem, leveraging off the shelf products, improving the utility of existing solutions, and judicious new development - enabling young organizations to thrive. His leadership has a strong history of creating motivated, highly collaborative teams that can deliver while his technical style can marry process design and system thinking for optimal results.
