ABOUT MARK WYNNE

Ever since my first computer at age 8, I’ve been captivated by the endless possibilities technology presents. My career began in 1995 at Softly Aware, where I embraced the intricacies of the software lifecycle, and my passion has only grown from there.Over the years, I have honed my skills across various sectors—from finance to government—always with a focus on improving and advancing IT infrastructure. In 1997, I joined IBM, where I rapidly advanced from an Application Analyst to leading a 2nd Line Support team, playing a pivotal role in customizing support solutions that catered to diverse customer needs. My journey took me through key roles, including an Inventory and Asset Management Specialist and later, an Application Packaging expert, where I leveraged my deep understanding of end-to-end application functionality to serve Blue Chip clients effectively.In 2008, I transitioned to Servo, and subsequently to Barclays in 2010, enhancing my expertise in application migration and virtualization, and advocating for best practices in application lifecycle management. Since 2014, I embraced the flexibility of contracting, applying my expertise across financial, retail, and governmental sectors, specializing in virtualizing applications for cloud and on-premise deployments using advanced technologies like Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Citrix.Since November 2020, I have been dedicated to my role as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at the Department of Work and Pensions, where I am responsible for ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Here, I continue to apply and expand my expertise, particularly in emerging cloud technologies, to support significant national initiatives that directly impact millions of lives.As a proud Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS), I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and continuing education in the IT field. This membership not only reflects my dedication to professional development but also my adherence to an internationally respected code of practice.My journey through various facets of IT has not only been about adapting and implementing technology but also about a continuous pursuit of learning and improvement. I am always open to connect with fellow IT professionals who are keen to discuss technology innovations and advancements.
