About Markus Weimer
My career goal is to make machine learning more useful for more people, focusing on the latter in recent years.To that end, I lead the engineering teams for Data Science and AI in #MicrosoftFabric. I am also a member of the Apache Software Foundation and was the inaugural PMC chair (VP) of Apache REEF.Prior, I lead ML.NET team to its open source release to bring ML tools to millions of.NET developers.Before, I was firmly entrenched in the \"more useful\" side of ML: I lead the machine learning research group of the Gray Systems Lab (GSL, formerly CISL) at Microsoft. I started my career as a researcher at Yahoo! Research.
