ABOUT MARKUS DIETRICH

As a Catalyst for Global Impact, I drive strategic pivots for governments, development agencies, and private sector leaders to shift private sector development (PSD) towards sustainable, scalable social and environmental impact. My mission is to create the policy and market conditions necessary for this high-leverage change. My expertise is uniquely forged from three decades of hands-on experience- Market-Scaling Entrepreneurship: I translate my 15 years as a serial entrepreneur in Europe and my work pioneering social entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia into market-driven, sustainable solutions. This includes establishing Hilltribe Organics as the market leader in certified organic chicken eggs in Thailand- Policy and Market Shaping: I specialize in the architecture of inclusive growth. While leading ASEI, I successfully incubated social enterprises, advised policymakers on developing the solar energy market, and supported the establishment of Inclusive Business as a policy priority for ASEAN- Global Development Strategy: Since 2017, I\'ve brought this entrepreneurial and policy-scaling experience to global development with GIZ. My current focus is spearheading market development through the Alliance for Product Quality in Africa (AfPQ), where I support African SMEs in adopting quality management systems and achieve compliance with regional and international standards—directly linking quality to trade and growth. I don\'t just advise; I apply a blend of deep market understanding and strategic policy leverage to accelerate global prosperity that truly benefits underserved populations.
