Currently working for a small business in Leamington Spa helping to improve the NHS through the development of asset monitoring and tracking tools.Key responsibility is the architecture and development of a fully scalable system to track assets using GPS, RFID, Internal tracking (BT), integrating with Cisco, Aruba, Wirepass.Teltonika + Flespi and Digital Matter hardware. Bulk asset tracking using RFID.New system architecture designed and built as an Infrastructure-as-Code (IoC) solution in NodeJS using the Typescript language using AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM) implementing the latest AWS serverless technologies including Lambda (Typescript), Neptune, Aurora SQL, SQS, SNS, IoT Core. Ingestion of raw sensor data built as a series of Lambdas linked through the use of AWS SQS queues.Continuous Integration implemented through SAM with a complete suite of Lambda unit tests using Jest with full mocking using AWS Mock Client. Linting and Code coverage. Pipeline builds to testing and live environments.Authentication built using AWS Cognito with multiple Entra SAML integrations.Front-end implementation is a Progressive Web App (PWA) written in NodeJS using the Typescript language and implemented using Amplify Gen 2 using React with Material UI 6 and integrating with AWS Location Services and Firebase for push notifications. UI Testing carried out using Playwright.Skills and Knowledge: NodeJS, TypeScript, Cognito, SAML, Entra, AWS Serverless (Lambda, Neptune, Aurora SQL, SQS, SNS, IOT Core), Unit Testing, Code Coverage, Linting. PWA, Amplify Gen 2, AWS Location Services, Firebase, Playwright, CoPilot.

Practical knowledge and experience of cutting-edge AWS software engineering including the usage of modern AI, cloud scalability, team-building and tech startup culture.I am currently working as the Principal Software Engineer for a small company in Leamington Spa building products to improve the performance of the NHS through the development of advanced asset monitoring and tracking tools.I previously worked as Lead Developer for a Coventry-based startup working in the hospitality data space to develop an AI-driven analysis framework using OpenAI\'s GPT-3 API, replacing an early prototype with a robust, secure and scalable solution using the latest TypeScript technologies. This work includes a scalable cloud database linked to a backend API written in TypeScript and running on either NodeJS or Deno linked to a native web frontend utilising the latest browser APIs including Custom Elements. The system is linked to a GitHub actions CI pipeline running linting, unit, API and acceptance test suites.Prior to that I was Principal Software Engineer for Toshi Tech, an agile logistics company specialising in high-end fashion. He oversaw key changes to both the client-facing architecture and cloud infrastructure including the introduction of new frameworks and working practices to enable the business to scale effectively and meet its growth targets.My previous experience was when I worked at Coventry University as a process consultant, embedded in local businesses.
