ABOUT MARK SLASKI
I am a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society with over 30 years’ experience working at the intersection of psychology and business.Across my career — as an academic, consultant, and now founder — my focus has been consistent: helping organisations understand how people really work, and what it takes to create environments where they perform at their best.Alongside an academic role as a senior lecturer and researcher in organisational psychology, my career has been primarily focused on applied consultancy — working with organisations globally to improve engagement, strengthen leadership capability, and build more effective, human workplaces. My work spans executive coaching, leadership development, and organisation-wide interventions. Alongside this, I’ve published research and presented at international academic and business conferences in emotional intelligence, wellbeing, and engagement.Over time, one idea has become central to my work. The best organisations don’t just run on processes or strategy — they run on Emotional Capital.I define Emotional Capital as the collective stock of trust, belonging, achievement, autonomy, confidence, and pride that flows through an organisation every day.Emotional Capital shapes how people think, feel, and perform — and ultimately determines whether a business succeeds or struggles. When it flows, organisations perform at their best. When it’s out of balance, friction takes hold. After ‘sell more, spend less’, growing your Emotional Capital is the third way to drive sustainable competitive advantage. Yet for most organisations, their Emotional Capital remains invisible, unmanaged and left to chance. That’s why I founded Wai3.Grounded in behavioural science, Wai3 is an AI-powered platform designed to map Emotional Capital across an organisation — revealing strengths, vulnerabilities, and opportunities, and turning insight into practical behavioural action, automatically delivered at the point of need.At its core, my work is about bringing science into the real world of business — and creating Wealthier and Healthier organisations.
